PUC conducts monthly meetings to consider and act on petitions for regulatory action which have been filed by utilities or telecom companies. Under this News & Notices section, PUC will keep the public informed of petitions which have been filed [which may be reviewed under the PUC Dockets section] and the agenda and schedule for each monthly PUC meeting. This section will also be used, when appropriate, to issue notices and news releases on matters of significant regulatory interest.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Guam Public Utilities Commission (the “PUC”) shall conduct public hearings related to the June 28, 2011 Base Rate Case Petition filed by the Port Authority of Guam (“PAG”). 

 

The purpose of the public hearings shall be to receive public comment and testimony regarding PAG’s request for a tariff increase of 3.95% per annum and other tariff rate adjustments detailed in the petition. 

 

PAG’s June 28, 2011 Base Rate Case Petition, with supporting testimony, and all other relevant documents and materials filed in the instant docket, are available for public inspection at the PUC’s office, which is located in Suite 207, GCIC Building, 414 West Soledad Avenue, Hagåtña, Guam.  A copy of the proposed rate increases and adjustments may also be viewed at PAG’s website, http://www.portguam.com

 

The PUC shall conduct a public hearing on October 27, 2011, 6:00 p.m., at Suite 202, GCIC Building, 414 West Soledad Avenue, Hagåtña, Guam.  No rate increase shall become effective unless approved by the PUC.  Interested persons may participate in the public hearings by application to the PUC at Suite 207, GCIC Building, 414 West Soledad Avenue, Hagåtña, Guam.  The PUC also welcomes public comments at the hearing.

 

The PUC further invites public comment and testimony at additional public hearings, which shall be held at the following locations and times:

 

October 28, 2011, 5:00 p.m., Asan Community Center; and

October 28, 2011, 7:00 p.m., Dededo Senior Citizens Center.
